Data Platform Engineer
Job Summary
To lead the modernization of a healthcare data platform, the full-time remote Data Platform Engineer will implement a scalable, cloud-native AWS architecture, enabling business stakeholders to run SQL-based reports and queries against healthcare data.
Key responsibilities
- Architect and execute the migration of XML object store data from MSSQL to AWS, defining optimal storage formats and query performance strategies
- Design and build a reporting layer for non-technical users to run SQL queries against healthcare data, collaborating with business stakeholders to gather requirements
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using AWS-native tooling
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in software or data engineering with a strong focus on AWS
- Proven experience in architecting cloud data platform migrations in production environments, particularly in healthcare
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS data services such as S3, Athena, and Redshift
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent practical experience considered
- U.S. Citizenship required for this opportunity, with eligibility for a Public Trust security clearance
