Data Platform Engineer
Job Summary
To lead the modernization of a healthcare data platform, the full-time remote Data Platform Engineer will architect and implement a scalable AWS data architecture, optimize query performance, and collaborate with business stakeholders to translate reporting requirements into effective data models.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the transition from a Microsoft SQL XML object store to a cloud-native AWS data architecture
- Design and build the reporting and query layer for non-technical users to run SQL queries against healthcare data
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and apply Infrastructure as Code practices for data infrastructure management
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in software or data engineering with a strong AWS focus
- Proven experience in architecting and executing cloud data platform migrations in production environments
- Deep hands-on experience with AWS data services such as S3, Athena, and Redshift
- Strong SQL skills with the ability to design relational query layers over semi-structured data
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
