Job Summary
Seeking a full-time Data Platform Engineer to lead the modernization of a healthcare data platform remotely, focusing on transitioning to a scalable, cloud-native AWS architecture while collaborating with stakeholders to optimize data storage and reporting capabilities.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the evolution from MSSQL XML object store to AWS data architecture for seamless reporting and querying
- Design and implement the reporting layer for non-technical users and optimize query performance across AWS services
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure efficient data flow and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data infrastructure
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in software or data engineering with a strong focus on AWS
- Proven track record of architecting and executing cloud data platform migrations in enterprise or healthcare environments
- Deep hands-on experience with AWS data services such as S3, Athena, and Redshift
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- Strong SQL skills and experience with XML-heavy data stores
