Data Platform Engineer
Job Summary
To lead the modernization of healthcare data platforms, the full-time remote Data Platform Engineer will implement a scalable AWS architecture, optimize query performance, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure efficient data management and reporting.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the transition from a Microsoft SQL XML object store to a cloud-native AWS data architecture
- Design and build reporting and query layers for non-technical users to access healthcare data
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and apply Infrastructure as Code practices for data infrastructure
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in software or data engineering with a strong focus on AWS
- Proven experience in architecting and executing cloud data platform migrations in enterprise environments
- Deep hands-on experience with AWS data services such as S3, Athena, and Redshift
- Strong SQL skills with the ability to design relational query layers over semi-structured data
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent practical experience considered
