Job Summary
To lead the modernization of a healthcare data platform, the full-time remote Data Platform Engineer will architect a scalable, cloud-native AWS data architecture, implement data migration strategies, and optimize query performance for business stakeholders and analysts.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the transition from a Microsoft SQL XML object store to an AWS data architecture, ensuring seamless reporting capabilities
- Design and build the reporting layer for non-technical users to run SQL queries against healthcare data
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into efficient data models
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in software or data engineering with a strong focus on AWS
- Proven experience in architecting and executing cloud data platform migrations in enterprise or healthcare environments
- Deep hands-on experience with AWS data services such as S3, Athena, and Redshift
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Strong SQL skills with experience in working with XML-heavy data stores
