Data Platform Engineer
Job Summary
Leading the modernization of a healthcare data platform, the full-time Data Platform Engineer will implement a scalable AWS architecture, optimize query performance, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver effective data solutions in a remote setting.
Key responsibilities
- Architect and execute the migration of XML object store data from MSSQL to AWS, ensuring optimal performance and cost efficiency
- Design and build a reporting and query layer for business stakeholders, enabling seamless SQL-based reporting on healthcare data
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code practices for data infrastructure using AWS-native tools
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in software or data engineering with a strong focus on AWS
- Proven experience in architecting cloud data platform migrations in production environments
- Strong SQL skills with experience in designing relational query layers over semi-structured or non-relational data
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Familiarity with AWS data services such as S3, Athena, Aurora, and DynamoDB
