Data Platform Engineer
Job Summary
Leading the modernization of a healthcare data platform, the full-time Data Platform Engineer will implement a scalable, cloud-native AWS architecture, optimizing data storage and query performance while collaborating with stakeholders to translate reporting requirements into effective data models, all in a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Architect and execute the migration of XML object store data to AWS, defining storage formats and optimizing query performance
- Design and build the reporting and query layer to enable business users to run SQL queries against healthcare data
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and apply Infrastructure as Code practices using AWS-native tools
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in software or data engineering with a strong focus on AWS
- Proven experience in architecting cloud data platform migrations in production environments
- Strong SQL skills with experience designing relational query layers over semi-structured data
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- U.S. Citizenship required for this opportunity
