Data Scientist
Job Summary
Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Data Scientist will build and optimize machine learning models to enhance Petco's Omnichannel experience by analyzing customer, pricing, and inventory data.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and productionize machine learning frameworks to assess the impact of actions on the business
- Create and maintain data pipelines that integrate with various databases to support model development
- Conduct exploratory data analysis and model validation to ensure accurate and interpretable outputs
Required qualifications
- MS/PhD in Statistics, Math, Engineering, Economics, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in business analytics and data science, with a focus on machine learning
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with Python or R for data analysis and modeling
- Hands-on experience with BI tools such as Tableau, R Shiny, or Looker
- Ability to communicate complex analytical concepts to non-technical audiences
