Data Scientist

Job Summary

Collaborating with lab scientists and software engineers, the remote contract Data Scientist will streamline computational workflows for sequencing analysis and report generation while developing innovative molecular diagnostics products to improve organ transplantation outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and optimize existing analysis workflow pipelines
• Collect, clean, aggregate, and manage datasets from various laboratory and genomic sources
• Collaborate with internal bioinformatics and data science teams to identify computational bottlenecks and enhance process efficiency

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Biological Sciences, Biostatistics, or a related quantitative field
• 2+ years of relevant experience in data science, bioinformatics, or genomic data analysis
• Proficiency in programming and scripting with Python, R, C/C++, SQL, Shell/Bash, or other languages
• Hands-on experience in a Linux environment building and maintaining Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) bioinformatics analysis pipelines
• Knowledge of common bioinformatics tools, sequence alignment algorithms, and public genomic databases
