Job Summary
Building generative capabilities for a daily executive news briefing, the contract Data Scientist will design candidate-recommendation processes, utilize retrieval-augmented generation, and refine prompts for drafting summaries and teasers based on historical data.
Key responsibilities
- Design the candidate-recommendation step by reviewing daily stories against past decisions
- Build retrieval systems over email archives to ensure drafts match established tone and prioritization
- Collaborate with the Data Engineer on data structure and refine outputs based on feedback
Required qualifications
- Hands-on experience with SQL for querying labeled candidate data and metadata
- Fundamentals of Python and ability to work with coding assistants
- Applied experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and retrieval-augmented generation
- Experience with embeddings, vector search, and evaluating LLM output quality
- Familiarity with GCP, particularly Vertex AI and related tools
