Job Summary
Collaborating with utility domain experts and engineers, the full-time salaried Data Scientist III will manage data science projects focused on customer energy usage modeling, grid-impact analyses, and the development of statistical and machine learning models, all while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Translate project scopes into technical tasks using Jira and evaluate data sufficiency for data science tasks
- Develop and validate statistical and machine learning models while collaborating on data science pipeline maintenance
- Communicate insights and project updates clearly to clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
Required qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in a technical field such as statistics, economics, mathematics, or electrical engineering
- Proficiency in R or Python, with fluency in both preferred
- Experience applying data science methods in professional environments for proof-of-concept and operational support projects
- Strong understanding of various statistical and machine learning model families
- Experience with Databricks and familiarity with cloud environments, specifically AWS and Azure, is a plus
