Database Administrator
Job Summary
To enhance data management practices, the full-time remote Database Administrator will manage the quality maintenance and performance of data stores, provide recommendations to development teams, and ensure effective implementation and maintenance of database systems.
Key responsibilities:
- Perform database capacity planning, installation, configuration, design, migration, and performance monitoring
- Act as a subject matter expert for data management, troubleshooting, and providing best practices for database implementation
- Write and tune SQL queries, review schema designs, and implement data maintenance processes to optimize operations
Required qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree in computer science or a related field with 5-10 years of experience in database administration
- Extensive experience with relational and non-relational database technologies such as Oracle, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB
- Minimum 3 years of experience with a Cloud Database Service (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure PostgreSQL)
- Strong command of SQL and advanced knowledge of database security and performance monitoring standards
- Experience with data warehousing technologies like Snowflake or Redshift is a plus
