Database Administrator

Job Summary

To support the modernization of enterprise business solutions for NASA, the full-time remote Database Administrator will manage and maintain various database systems, including Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL, while collaborating with stakeholders and end-user communities.

Key responsibilities:

• Administer and maintain database systems supporting AAO applications, ensuring optimal performance and security
• Install, configure, upgrade, and recover enterprise database systems while adhering to best practices
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues in a fast-paced environment

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree
• 6-8 years of experience as a Database Administrator, with proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
• Experience with automation using Microsoft PowerShell, VBScript, or batch files
• Familiarity with High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) database architectures
• Ability to obtain and maintain a NASA Public Trust background investigation
