Job Summary
Owning day-to-day database operations and backup/recovery for a large North American automotive enterprise customer, the full-time Database Operations Engineer will ensure the health of RDS, Aurora, and self-managed databases while executing disaster-recovery runbooks in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and maintain day-to-day operations of databases and backup systems
- Verify backup integrity and execute disaster recovery procedures as needed
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including OS/middleware, EKS, and network/security engineers
Required qualifications
- Proven experience with AWS database services, particularly RDS and Aurora
- Strong background in database backup and recovery processes
- Experience in managing multi-account AWS environments
- Familiarity with disaster recovery planning and execution
- Ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment
