Database Reliability Engineering Manager
Job Summary
Owning the database infrastructure and management strategy, the full-time Database Reliability Engineering Manager will oversee cloud database operations, support identity and access modernization, and lead high-availability operations for live events, with the option to work remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Manage cloud database infrastructure, including capacity planning and vendor relationships
- Develop and implement data lifecycle strategies for aging, archiving, and retention
- Lead operational readiness for high-traffic live events, ensuring on-call design and staffing plans are in place
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of experience managing database, DevOps, or SRE teams in high-traffic environments
- Strong hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred) and various database technologies
- Proven track record in managing cloud costs and vendor relationships, including contract negotiation
- Experience with identity/access management and modern observability/monitoring practices
- Ability to mentor technical leads and effectively delegate responsibilities to empower the team
