Job Summary
Fluent in Japanese, the full-time Database Support Engineer will investigate and resolve advanced customer issues across various components of the Supabase platform, providing consultative advice and collaborating with engineering to enhance product quality in a remote setting.
Key responsibilities
- Investigate and resolve complex customer issues related to Postgres, Auth, Storage, and more
- Provide proactive, tailored advice to optimize user workloads and avoid common pitfalls
- Mentor junior team members and recommend improvements based on ticket patterns
Required qualifications
- 6+ years in technical support, backend engineering, SRE, or a related field
- Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL internals and high-performance SQL
- Experience troubleshooting complex setups and handling data migration issues
- Fluent bilingual in Japanese and English, with experience supporting technical products in Japanese
- Comfortable in terminal and Linux environments, with hands-on experience with cloud hosting providers
