Job Summary
To support data processing and analytics needs, the remote Senior Data Engineer / Databricks Specialist will develop and optimize scalable Spark applications using Python, PySpark, and SQL, while managing AWS cloud infrastructure and administering Databricks workspaces on a contract basis.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and optimize scalable Spark applications and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines using Medallion Architecture
- Administer Databricks workspaces, including cluster provisioning and job scheduling, while managing AWS cloud infrastructure assets
- Implement data quality controls and collaborate within cross-functional Agile/Scrum teams, providing technical leadership
Required qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Active Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate or Professional certification
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in Databricks development
- Strong experience with AWS Cloud services, including S3, IAM, Lambda, Glue, and Aurora
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Science, or a related engineering discipline
