DE Mortgage Underwriter with LAPP & SAR
Job Summary
Working fully remote, the Mortgage DE Underwriter with active LAPP & SAR will underwrite residential mortgage loans, ensuring compliance with company and investor standards while collaborating with loan originators to secure necessary documentation.
Key responsibilities
- Review loan file documentation for adherence to loan program guidelines, including property appraisal and title reports
- Examine loan documentation for accuracy and completeness, collaborating with production staff to secure required documents
- Underwrite residential reverse mortgage loans in compliance with FHA and secondary market guidelines
Required qualifications
- Active LAPP & SAR with experience underwriting a VA loan within the past 6 months
- Minimum of 8 years of experience as a mortgage underwriter
- Thorough understanding of credit and ability to review complex financial documents
- Strong organization skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Underwriting certifications are required; secondary market experience is a plus
