Design Engineer

Job Summary

To support the UX organization, the full-time Design Engineer will bridge design intent and production reality by maintaining a React component library, prototyping interactions, and enabling workflows that enhance the efficiency of the UX team in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and evolve the production-ready React component library to ensure alignment between design and user experience
• Prototype complex interactions and animations in code, facilitating quicker decision-making and gathering real feedback
• Define and document interaction states and usage guidelines, ensuring consistency and speed in design implementation across teams

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of experience building web interfaces with strong command of React, TypeScript, and modern CSS
• Expert-level proficiency in Figma, including building and maintaining shared component libraries
• Hands-on experience with design systems and a deep understanding of atomic design methodology
• Working knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA) and practical experience implementing them
• A portfolio demonstrating both design sensibility and code quality, including production-quality UI components and design system contributions
