Job Summary
Supporting dynamic power system studies, the full-time Design Engineer for Dynamic Studies will develop and test renewable energy models, perform dynamic system studies, and collaborate with clients, all while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Develop PSSE, PSLF, TSAT, and PSCAD models of renewable plants and conduct model quality tests
- Support interconnection applications by preparing preliminary designs and application forms
- Stay current with regulatory changes and conduct studies to ensure NERC compliance for renewable projects
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of working experience, with at least 1 year directly related to power systems
- Experience with steady-state and dynamic analysis using PSS E and PSCAD
- Prior experience with transmission system operators or owners is preferred
- Familiarity with programming in Python is preferred
