Director of Accounting and Finance

Job Summary

Leading the Finance Department, the full-time remote Director of Accounting and Finance will manage accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management while supporting organizational decision-making and improving financial stewardship.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Finance Department, ensuring timely completion of responsibilities and fostering a culture of accountability
• Direct accounting operations, including financial reporting, month-end and year-end close, and grant accounting, while maintaining compliance with GAAP
• Support budgeting and financial forecasting processes, monitor cash flow, and manage grant-funded programs to ensure financial compliance

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field
• Minimum of seven years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least three years in a leadership role
• Demonstrated experience in accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience with financial statement audits and nonprofit accounting principles
• Experience managing grant-funded programs, including financial reporting and compliance activities
