Director of AI Data Engineering

Job Summary

Leading the development of sophisticated data ecosystems, the remote Director of AI Data Engineering will manage the architecture and evolution of data engineering platforms for speech recognition and natural language processing, while overseeing training data acquisition strategies and collaborating with AI researchers.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the architecture and evolution of scalable data engineering platforms for NLP and speech technologies
• Direct the development of data pipelines for processing and delivering large volumes of speech and language training data
• Establish standards for multilingual speech datasets, ensuring data quality and transcription accuracy

Required qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in data infrastructure for machine learning research or AI model development
• Proven leadership experience in technical engineering organizations supporting AI research initiatives
• Direct experience with speech and audio datasets, including corpus design and annotation workflows
• Strong understanding of NLP, speech-to-text, and text-to-speech technologies
• Experience in dataset versioning, reproducibility, and governance processes for machine learning
