Director of Application Security

Job Summary

Driving the strategy and execution of application security and security architecture, the full-time remote Director of Application Security will lead a multi-manager organization, develop a strategic roadmap, and partner with various teams to enhance security posture and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a multi-manager organization across Application Security and Security Architecture, setting clear direction and high-performance expectations
• Establish and execute a 2-3 year strategic roadmap aligned with product and platform engineering priorities, while managing budget and tooling strategies
• Drive a developer-first security culture by embedding security capabilities in CI/CD pipelines and ensuring comprehensive coverage of the application portfolio

Required qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive security experience, with at least 5 years in leadership roles managing multi-functional security teams
• Strong background in security engineering or software development, with proven experience in Application Security leadership at scale
• Deep expertise in multi-cloud security (AWS preferred) and familiarity with modern security tooling ecosystems
• Ability to quantify and communicate security risk in business terms, with experience presenting to executive leadership
• Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (Python, Go, or similar) for reviewing automation and security tooling code
