Director of Clinical Chargemaster

Job Summary

Leading the Charge Master Clinical Specialists, the full-time remote Director of Clinical Chargemaster will oversee charge master functions to ensure appropriate reimbursement and compliance with governmental billing regulations across all Mercy communities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage charge master functions to ensure compliance with billing regulations and appropriate reimbursement
• Oversee and lead the Charge Master Clinical Specialists team to achieve departmental goals
• Develop a working knowledge of Fiscal Intermediaries (FI) requirements and CMS regulations as they apply across Mercy entities

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or comparable work experience in Health Information Management, Finance, Nursing, or a related field
• Five years of healthcare experience, particularly in coding and charge description master (CDM) knowledge at an acute care hospital
• Epic Certification required within one year of hire
• Experience with Fiscal Intermediaries (FI) and knowledge of payor mix specific to Mercy entities
• Preferred certifications include CPC, CPC-H, RN, RHIT, or RHIA
