Director of Coding Quality Assurance

Job Summary

Providing strategic leadership in a remote full-time capacity, the Director of Coding Quality Assurance will manage coding quality assurance, audit, education, compliance validation, and technology-enabled coding quality across Hospital and Professional Billing, ensuring operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Establishes and directs the enterprise strategy and governance framework for coding quality assurance, audit, education, and validation
• Provides executive oversight of coding audit programs to evaluate coding accuracy and regulatory compliance
• Develops and directs the enterprise coding education strategy based on audit findings and operational priorities

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or related field with five years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree with seven years of experience, or a high school diploma with ten years of experience and active coding certification
• Three years of leadership experience in coding quality, auditing, education, compliance, or a related revenue cycle function
• Expert knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and official coding guidelines
• Advanced knowledge of coding quality assurance, audit methodology, and healthcare reimbursement principles
• Demonstrated ability to lead enterprise programs and drive measurable performance improvement
