Job Summary
As the founding Director of Communications, the full-time remote position will manage Cogent's earned media strategy, oversee PR agency operations, and enhance executive visibility to establish the company's reputation in the cybersecurity sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and execute the earned media strategy, including story angles and coverage plans for launches and milestones
- Build partnerships with creators and influencers to increase Cogent's presence in relevant communities
- Develop and prepare executives for external engagements, including podcasts and press interviews
Required Qualifications
- 8-10+ years of communications or PR experience in B2B tech, preferably in cybersecurity
- Proven track record in leading communications for funding rounds and major partnerships in growth-stage startups
- Experience in building and executing a communications program with tangible results
- Strong writing skills across various communication formats, including pitches and announcements
- Familiarity with AI applications in communications, including monitoring and drafting
