Director of Compliance

Job Summary

Seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Compliance in a full-time remote role, this position will manage HR compliance across U.S. and Canadian operations, focusing on employment compliance, labor relations, policy governance, and risk management while partnering with various stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive HR compliance framework across U.S. and Canadian operations
• Lead HR compliance audits, risk assessments, and investigations while identifying emerging areas of compliance risk
• Oversee Canadian labor relations strategy, including collective bargaining negotiations and ongoing partnership with union representatives

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Law, or a related field
• 10+ years of progressive experience in HR compliance, employee relations, or employment law, including 6+ years in a leadership role
• Strong knowledge of U.S. and Canadian employment and labor laws
• Experience leading complex investigations and compliance initiatives
• Proven ability to influence senior leaders and build effective partnerships across HR and business teams
