Director of Cybersecurity

Job Summary

To lead the transformation of security practices, the full-time Director of Cybersecurity will develop and implement enterprise security strategies, manage security operations, and ensure compliance while working in a hybrid or onsite capacity near Scottsdale, AZ.

Key responsibilities

• Set and execute the enterprise security strategy, focusing on automation and managed services to enhance efficiency
• Lead security operations, including incident response, threat intelligence, and vulnerability management, transitioning to an AI-assisted model
• Oversee governance, risk, and compliance programs, ensuring adherence to regulations such as PCI DSS and telecom obligations

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 10+ years in cybersecurity, with at least 5 years in leadership roles managing security teams
• Proven experience in transitioning security from a gatekeeping model to an embedded, DevSecOps approach
• Strong background in SOC operations and incident response, including managing MDR/MSSP providers
• Deep knowledge of identity and privileged access management, as well as governance, risk, and compliance frameworks
