Director of Data Architecture

Job Summary

Leading multiple teams in a remote capacity, the full-time Director of Data Architecture will oversee architecture for large Azure programs, connect business goals to cloud modernization roadmaps, and promote strong engineering practices while mentoring senior architects and fostering an inclusive engineering culture.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead architecture and technical strategy for large Azure programs, ensuring solutions meet client goals
• Develop and grow team members through coaching, feedback, and maintaining team health and morale
• Guide major architecture decisions and promote shared design standards across multiple teams

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field preferred
• 12+ years of experience delivering solutions in application development, cloud platform engineering, or data and analytics
• Deep architectural expertise with Databricks, including Spark optimization and Delta Lake
• Proven experience leading architecture and delivery for Azure-based modernization at enterprise scale
• Experience designing and integrating quality, automation, and observability practices at scale
