Director of Data Engineering
Job Summary
Owning the data platform, the full-time remote Director of Data Engineering will lead a team to build and scale the data architecture, refactor legacy systems, and ensure data quality and availability across the organization.
Key responsibilities
- Own the data roadmap and establish a single source of truth for core business data
- Refactor legacy jobs and manage the infrastructure to ensure scalability and cost efficiency
- Lead and coach a team through code reviews and prioritize data requests based on business impact
Required qualifications
- 8+ years in data architecture or engineering with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Experience building and scaling cloud data platforms like BigQuery
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and dbt or a similar modeling framework
- Deep data modeling experience with a focus on business concepts
- Experience with ELT tools and enterprise systems, preferably in DTC or CPG sectors
