Director of Data Engineering

Job Summary

Leading the strategy and execution of data engineering and analytics, the full-time Director of Data Engineering will manage the end-to-end data platform and analytics function remotely, ensuring scalable and reliable data solutions while providing hands-on technical leadership and developing a high-performing team.

Key responsibilities

• Owns the data engineering and analytics function, translating business priorities into actionable data roadmaps and driving execution
• Designs and maintains production data pipelines, ensuring data quality and governance while building AI-driven validation processes
• Partners with cross-functional teams to establish standards for data architecture, reporting, and analytics, while providing executive-level communication on platform health and outcomes

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or related technology roles
• Demonstrated leadership experience in managing technical teams and delivering measurable business outcomes
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and PySpark, with a strong background in data modeling and lakehouse architecture
• Experience with AI tools and processes, including delegating tasks to AI agents and ensuring data accuracy
