Director of Data Security

Job Summary

Seeking a remote Director of Data Security, this full-time position will manage the strategy and execution of enterprise data protection and AI security programs, ensuring sensitive information is classified, protected, and shared securely while building a high-performing team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the enterprise data protection and AI security strategy, roadmap, and operating model with measurable KPIs
• Build and lead a team of data protection and AI security engineers while optimizing Microsoft Purview for classification and DLP standards
• Partner with Security Operations to detect and investigate data exfiltration and AI-related incidents, enhancing DLP effectiveness through automation

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of cybersecurity experience, including 5+ years in data protection or cloud security, and 3+ years in technical leadership
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview in enterprise environments, including Information Protection and DLP
• Strong understanding of AI security risks and controls, with experience in securing platforms like Microsoft 365 Copilot
• Knowledge of NIST CSF, SOC 2, and ISO 27001, along with proven strategic leadership and stakeholder management skills
