Director of Development

Job Summary

To support fundraising operations, the remote full-time Director of Development will manage grant writing, oversee development operations, and enhance fundraising strategies while collaborating closely with the Executive Director.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and submission of grant proposals and reports, ensuring alignment with CDI's mission and strategy
• Own and refine the systems and infrastructure behind fundraising efforts, maintaining documentation and workflows
• Support the Executive Director in managing funder relationships and shaping fundraising strategies

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in development or fundraising, including successful grant writing for six- and seven-figure amounts
• Experience in building and maintaining fundraising systems and processes in smaller or growing organizations
• Exceptional writing and communication skills, capable of conveying complex ideas clearly
• Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail and minimal oversight required
