Director of Engineering
Job Summary
Leading the engineering organization, the full-time remote Director of Engineering will manage a team of approximately 60 engineers, focusing on delivery, organizational health, and the integration of AI into the software development lifecycle.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the engineering team, establishing management cadence and serving as the first escalation point for cross-team issues
- Refine existing performance metrics and implement operational improvements to enhance delivery predictability and reliability
- Drive AI initiatives into production, embedding AI-assisted development within the engineering operating model
Required qualifications
- 12+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years in engineering leadership and at least 3 years managing engineering managers
- Experience managing a 30-60 person engineering organization, ideally in a Series B-D product company
- Proven ability to build and utilize KPI systems for engineering performance
- Experience in developing and deploying AI systems with established standards for evaluation and security
- Strong technical judgment with familiarity in system design, software design patterns, and engineering processes
