Director of Engineering
Job Summary
To set the technical strategy for Data Labs, the full-time remote Director of Engineering will manage engineering teams, develop a multi-year technical roadmap, and engage with clients to align technical capabilities with market trends in AI training and evaluation.
Key responsibilities
- Own and translate the multi-year technical strategy for Data Labs into actionable roadmaps
- Lead a team of engineering managers and senior engineers while ensuring alignment with client needs and market shifts
- Represent engineering in executive conversations and strategic client relationships, acting as a technical advisor
Required qualifications
- 10+ years in software engineering with significant experience in building ML or AI systems
- 5+ years in engineering leadership, managing multiple teams
- Proven track record of setting technical strategy and making impactful platform investment decisions
- Deep understanding of AI training and evaluation landscapes, including familiarity with LLM training pipelines
- Strong executive communication skills and experience in client-facing technical advisory roles
