Director of External Communications

Job Summary

To support a growing multi-product platform, the remote Director of External Communications will shape and execute Zip's external communications strategy, focusing on corporate, consumer, executive, and issues communications while collaborating with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Build and execute an integrated US external communications strategy that aligns with business priorities and enhances Zip's corporate narrative
• Own and manage media relations, ensuring consistent and proactive engagement with top-tier reporters and editors
• Oversee financial and public company communications, partnering with Investor Relations and Legal on disclosures and market-sensitive announcements

Required qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in corporate communications or public relations, preferably in a public company or regulated industry
• Strong understanding of public-company communications, including earnings cycles and financial disclosures
• Proven track record in building corporate narratives and established media relationships across relevant sectors
• Experience supporting IPOs or significant capital-market events
• A bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
