Job Summary
Leading FHI 360's external communications strategy, the full-time Director of External Communications will develop media strategies, manage reputational risks, and build relationships with journalists and partners, all while working remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute integrated media and executive visibility strategies to enhance organizational presence and engagement
- Serve as a core member of the crisis response team, providing strategic communications counsel during emerging issues
- Coordinate executive participation in external engagements to maximize visibility and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in communications, Journalism, Public Relations, International Relations, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in media relations, public affairs, or strategic communications
- Demonstrated experience in developing global media relations and crisis communications strategies
- Experience in international development, global health, philanthropy, or related sectors preferred
- Proven ability as an on-the-record spokesperson with established media relationships
