Director of Finance

Job Summary

Managing the finance, people, and administrative functions, the full-time Director of Finance will oversee the relationship with an outside accounting firm, lead the annual audit, and support HR administration in a hybrid or remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the outside accounting firm to ensure timely monthly closes and accurate financial reporting
• Lead the annual audit process and prepare the annual budget in collaboration with the CEO
• Administer payroll, benefits, and compliance tasks, ensuring smooth HR operations and adherence to regulations

Required qualifications

• Seven or more years of experience in nonprofit finance and operations, including responsibility for annual audits
• Experience managing an outside accountant or small finance team
• Proficiency in payroll and benefits administration through a PEO
• Familiarity with tracking restricted grants and reporting to multiple funders
• Experience with financial systems and tools such as QuickBooks Online or HR platforms
