Director of First-Year Experience

Job Summary

Seeking a forward-thinking administrator, the full-time Director of First-Year Experience will provide strategic leadership for a comprehensive curricular and co-curricular roadmap for first-year students, ensuring their successful transition into a professional art and design community, either onsite in Lakewood, CO, or remotely from select states.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive first-year roadmap, identifying critical milestones from orientation through the second year
• Facilitate collaboration across departments to ensure student success, retention, and coherent messaging
• Launch and manage a peer-mentoring program to support students and faculty in navigating the first year

Required qualifications

• Graduate Degree: MA, MS, or PhD in a Liberal Arts discipline, Higher Education Leadership, or a related field
• Leadership Experience: 2+ years in academic leadership, curriculum coordination, or student success programming
• Teaching Experience: 2+ years of postsecondary teaching with a focus on engaging first-year students
• Collaboration: Proven ability to work across various departments, including Faculty, Student Affairs, and Enrollment Management
