Director of Infrastructure Engineering

Job Summary

To lead a high-performing infrastructure organization of approximately 12 engineers, the full-time Director of Infrastructure Engineering will manage operational excellence, oversee budgets, and set technical direction across various infrastructure domains while working remotely or onsite in Sunnyvale, CA.

Key responsibilities

• Build and manage a distributed infrastructure organization, ensuring reliability and accountability across all services
• Oversee capital and operating budgets, vendor relationships, and identify cost-reduction opportunities without compromising reliability
• Collaborate with Product and Development teams to design and document infrastructure solutions, incorporating infrastructure considerations early in product development

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering or operations, with at least 5 years in leadership roles
• Deep technical fluency in Linux, Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, and network security
• Proven experience managing capital and operating budgets and negotiating vendor contracts
• Experience leading teams through significant organizational changes, such as mergers or consolidations
• Background in telecom, VoIP, or high-availability service environments preferred
