Director of MERL

Job Summary

Leading the design and delivery of VisionFund's measurement, evaluation, research, and learning function, the full-time Director of MERL will manage monitoring architecture, client voice instruments, and impact evaluations while enhancing fundraising capabilities in a home-based role with 20% travel.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the design and delivery of the network's monitoring & evaluation approach, including data collection protocols and quality assurance
• Lead the design and implementation of client voice surveys and ensure technical standards for impact measurement are met
• Manage the organizational research agenda and maintain VisionFund's theory of change, prioritizing evidence-based decision-making

Required Qualifications

• Graduate-level degree in Economics, Development Economics, Statistics, Public Policy, Evaluation, or a related quantitative discipline
• Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role in MERL or related functions
• Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing measurement frameworks and impact-monitoring systems across multi-country organizations
• Proven experience leading MERL components of externally funded proposals, including results frameworks and evaluation design
• Fluent in English; working knowledge of French or Spanish is desirable
