Job Summary
Leading the operational strategy for a rapid microbiology food testing laboratory, the full-time Director of Operations Strategy will develop multi-year plans, optimize workflows, and drive performance improvements while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a multi-year operations strategy for rapid microbiology food testing
- Own turnaround-time and throughput performance, implementing lean and continuous improvement programs
- Partner with Scientific leadership to evaluate and deploy rapid methods and drive automation initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Food Science, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
- 10+ years of experience in laboratory operations or operations strategy, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Demonstrated track record of improving throughput and turnaround time in high-volume laboratory settings
- Working knowledge of food microbiology and relevant regulatory environments (FDA/FSMA, USDA-FSIS, ISO 17025)
- Strong financial acumen, including capacity modeling and P&L management
