Director of Partnerships

Job Summary

To shape and execute the vision for partnerships and external engagement, the full-time remote Director of Partnerships will manage strategic relationships, enhance American Oversight's influence, and ensure the organization's findings reach key stakeholders to drive accountability and systemic change.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and expand American Oversight's partnerships and external engagement strategy to enhance its authority on public records and government transparency
• Develop and implement coalition-based strategies that leverage American Oversight's expertise to drive accountability efforts and advocacy campaigns
• Oversee the tracking of key performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of strategic engagement and ensure alignment with organizational goals

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in nonprofit or advocacy settings, with a focus on building strategic partnerships
• 5+ years of experience in government accountability through advocacy or related work
• 3+ years of experience managing early-career staff, including performance management and mentorship
• Strong knowledge of the nonprofit advocacy landscape and experience in developing partnership strategies
• Demonstrated ability to engage diverse stakeholders and communicate organizational impact effectively
