Director of Payment Operations

Job Summary

Owning the operating model and processes for payment capabilities, the remote Director of Payment Operations will manage client payment onboarding, transaction monitoring, and incident response while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and scalability.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with various teams to define operational requirements and readiness plans for payment capabilities
• Build and improve transaction monitoring, settlement, reconciliation, and reporting processes for payment solutions
• Manage complex client escalations and establish scalable processes for payment exceptions

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in payment operations or financial operations, with leadership experience
• Direct experience with payment facilitators or embedded-payments platforms
• Strong knowledge of ACH and card-payment flows, including chargebacks and exceptions
• Experience in designing operational controls in collaboration with Legal, Compliance, and Risk
• Proven ability to use data analytics to improve payment performance and reliability
