Director of Retention

Job Summary

Owning the retention strategy, the full-time remote Director of Retention will manage subscription retention metrics, implement improvements based on data analysis, and collaborate cross-functionally to enhance customer experience and revenue growth.

Key responsibilities

• Set and manage the retention strategy and metrics for subscription retention, renewal, and recurring revenue
• Analyze data to identify reasons for member churn and implement solutions to improve retention
• Drive cross-functional collaboration to align engineering, growth, customer support, and finance on retention goals

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in direct-to-consumer subscription businesses with a focus on retention and recurring revenue
• Proven track record of improving retention, churn, or lifetime value with measurable outcomes
• Strong understanding of subscription economics and proficiency in SQL for data analysis
• Hands-on experience with retention strategies, including dunning, cancellation flows, and lifecycle triggers
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with executives
