Director of Risk and Controls

Job Summary

To establish and lead Bankrate's enterprise-grade risk and controls function, the fully remote Director of Risk and Controls will manage risk mitigation, governance, and compliance initiatives while collaborating with cross-functional teams and ensuring adherence to internal policies.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the monthly Risk & Compliance Committee, including agenda-setting and follow-up tracking
• Own project management for governance initiatives and maintain comprehensive documentation
• Utilize AI tools to develop and implement the first-line-of-defense program and monitor compliance with applicable laws

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in risk, compliance, or control management, preferably in financial services
• Strong project management skills with a proven ability to drive cross-functional initiatives to completion
• Experience using AI as a productivity tool for complex workflows
• Familiarity with first-line/second-line risk frameworks and comfort in building processes from scratch
• High energy and enthusiasm for developing a new function within the organization
