Director of Scientific Communications

Job Summary

Leading the publication and scientific data dissemination strategy, the full-time Director of Scientific Communications will manage publication plans, develop scientific narratives, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate clinical data effectively, preferably from a hybrid location in Mountain View, CA, with remote options for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities

• Own and execute the publication plan across Alto's pipeline, including abstracts, manuscripts, and presentations
• Partner with Clinical Development and other teams to translate clinical data into strategic scientific communications
• Manage medical communications agency relationships and ensure timely execution of publication timelines and processes

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of scientific or medical communications experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry
• Proven experience in developing abstracts, manuscripts, and congress presentations
• Strong ability to interpret and communicate complex clinical and scientific data
• Experience managing medical communications agencies and publication budgets
• Advanced degree in a scientific or healthcare-related field (e.g., PhD, PharmD, MD) preferred
