Director of Software Architecture
Job Summary
Owning the architecture and build strategy for a modernization project, the full-time Director of Software Architecture will direct an external partner in rebuilding a legacy .NET application into a modern SaaS revenue management system while ensuring operational integrity and executive communication in a fully remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Define and own the target architecture and specifications for the modernization project
- Direct the daily activities of the partner's build process, including acceptance criteria and quality assurance
- Ensure internal teams can operate and modify the delivered system independently of the partner
Required qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in building and operating production software, with significant time at staff or principal level
- Proven expertise in agentic or AI-assisted software delivery at production scale
- Demonstrated ownership of architecture for large, multi-team systems
- Experience managing external delivery partners and consultancies effectively
- Strong background in incremental legacy modernization and relational database systems
