Leading a hybrid team, the full-time salaried Director of Software Engineering will oversee the compute engineering organization, driving the evolution of a scalable, AI-driven compute platform while managing technical leadership and resource planning.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the compute engineering organization, providing technical leadership and mentoring for managers and engineers
- Own the roadmap for the compute scheduler, focusing on workload placement, prioritization, and fairness
- Establish and scale a performance engineering practice, including benchmarking and load testing for scheduling efficiency
Required qualifications
- 15+ years of software engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 12 years with a Master's degree; or a PhD with 8 years of experience
- 5+ years of people management experience in a global 24x7 production environment
- Experience building or operating large-scale schedulers or resource managers
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, system design, and capacity planning
- Hands-on experience applying machine learning in production environments
