Director of Systems Engineering

Job Summary

Leading the development of feature systems engineering strategies, the full-time Director of Systems Engineering will manage the roadmap, align cross-disciplinary teams, and ensure the traceability of system-level requirements while working in a hybrid environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the feature systems engineering development roadmap, strategy, processes, and standards, evolving them as the program progresses toward certification
• Set the technical direction for system architecture and interfaces across products, personally owning critical architecture decisions
• Lead the Safety, Security, and Human Factors teams to integrate their considerations into architecture and requirements without hindering development pace

Required Qualifications:

• BS in Electrical, Aerospace, Systems Engineering, or a related field; MS or PhD preferred
• 15+ years of systems engineering experience, with at least 4 years managing systems engineering managers
• Specific experience in Mission Autonomy and Vehicle Autonomy development, including AI aspects
• Proven ability to define system-level requirements and drive validation and verification efforts
• Hands-on experience certifying avionics equipment using ARP4754A and RTCA DO-178B/C and DO-254
